About the workshop:

What is ‘Movement Practice’?  Whilst acknowledging a range of ways to approach it, ours will be an introduction to distinct, fundamental subjects through which we can explore, develop, and celebrate our vast movement potential as human beings. It is open and accessible to every Body.

As the workshop unfolds, we will see how ‘Movement Practice’ can serve as a broad system physical-education for the modern age, one which aims to cultivate body & mind harmoniously, and has the potential to affect endless growth & development beyond the physical-layer too.

Our first encounter together will introduce subjects such as*:

  • Physical preparedness – a new system for physical development informed by dynamic anatomy, and framed in fully-scalable & progressive skills-based training.

  • Ground acrobatics – accessible systems for changing the configuration & orientation of your body in space, keeping hands firmly rooted to the ground.

  • Floor-communication: vocabularies of movement patterns expressing human movement complexity in & through different levels in space.

  • Open-form – guided practices for movement expression in relation to time, space and the body itself with focus on the arms, legs, and spine.

  • ‘Breathing & diaphragm’ –developing respiratory mobility, breathing literacy & energy systems to support physical performance and general health & well-being.

*Content is not guaranteed & may change according to how the day unfolds.
